Wiiing

We don't do much these days. We do a whole lot of wiiing....yeah, I did just make up that word. Wiiing, the process of playing the Wii. Mike, in particular, does a whole lot of wiiing. Today was particularly funny. Notice in this picture, Mike is very much into his game. At this point, he was attempting to defeat Bowser.

Notice anything on his shoulder?

 Here is a closer look.
That's right, its a sock. I was wandering around doing my usual pick up and put away anything in sight and if there is one thing that may put me in an early grave, its picking up Mike's socks. It drives me nuts. So today, when I picked them up, I decided to throw them at him. He was so into this game, that this sock remained on his shoulder for several minutes. Hah. That goes to show what little movement really is required when wiiing and also I really am unsure if Mike was even aware of the sock on his shoulder until I came out and started taking pictures of him. Oh, video games, how much we love you.

Lucky?

This is the fortune that Mike got from Panda Express on Friday.
If any of you know Mike, I mean, really know him, this is absolutely hysterical.
He wants to frame it.

And since when did a Big Gulp become 99 cents? They're only 79 cents in Oklahoma.
What a rip off. But still strangely worth every penny...

So How Do I Beat The Magic Bear?

Well we made it to Utah, safe and sound. Without any car troubles! We are so glad to be back with family and friends. We arrived Sunday around 12 noon, and then spent the day lounging with family! It was fabulous. I was back to work early Monday morning. Mike doesn't actually start his internship until next Monday so he has been bored to death. I have been busy working remotely and realizing what a bittersweet opportunity that it is. Bitter because man the days seem so long! I don't know what it is, but actually showing up at the office makes a day go by so much faster. And I was a little worried about the distractions that working remotely might bring, but its actually quite the opposite! I have been hardly distracted and working very quickly! I processed 27 expense reports in 2.5 days! Most have no idea but that is seriously awesome! But the Sweet part of all of this is the fact that this morning I hopped out of bed 30 minutes before I needed to be to work, took a shower, and headed to work with wet hair, no makeup, and in my pajamas. Now that has Abby just written all over it! It truly doesn't get better than that!

Not missing Oklahoma at all except for some dear friends and the nice, warm weather! It has been in the 40's and raining since we arrived. I have only ran once since I've been here and its kinda putting me in a slump. I miss my nice, temperature controlled gym! Hopefully all this rain disappears so I can feel the nice, warm sunshine on my face as I enjoy a run with the hubby!

And because all blogs should have pictures (or at least some would say), here is a picture that I finally got around to getting my hands on, taken of Mike and his siblings while we were all together around Christmas! Aren't they just adorable?!

Animal Kingdom

Approximately 5 minutes before the Kentucky Derby, with no beforehand knowledge of any of the horses/trainers/jockeys, Mike and I decided to pick a horse. Mike picked Mucho Macho Man. And guess who I picked?? Yep, Animal Kingdom. Let me tell you, that was the most exciting 2 minutes of my life! And I won!!! Yep, Animal Kindom won the race! And Mucho Macho Man took 3rd. Can you believe it? We pick out of 19 horses randomly, and we get 1st and 3rd place? Yep, we are awesome. I kept asking Mike what I won, but he couldn't give me an answer. So I got the large shake instead of the small shake at Braum's and called it good.

Mike and I went trail running on Saturday. I know what you're thinking. Trail running in Oklahoma? Where do you do that? Well thanks to some friends, we found a great spot. Now, if you're expecting Utah trails, prepare to be disappointed, but for Oklahoma, these were fabulous. Right next to the lake, amidst the wildlife, on a nearly completely shaded trail. The markers on the trail were pretty bad, but we figure we ran about 9 miles. AND IT WAS AWESOME. So entertaining. So tiring. But we loved it. And the best part about it, the head of the trail is like 10 minutes from our house. You don't have to drive clear up a canyon to get there!

Sweat much? We look awesome.

Happy Mothers Day (yesterday) to our Momma's! We love you so much and can't wait to see you in a week!

Anybody else wake up to a back massage on Mother's Day? Yeah, I know, Mike is the coolest!

Sneaky

The morning before yesterday morning I woke up sweating. SWEATING. Apparently the heater was turned ON. Mike tried to cuddle with me, and I wasn't having it. I couldn't handle the body heat.

Yesterday morning I woke up freezing. FREEZING. Apparently the heater was turned OFF. To make things a little worse, I had gone to bed with wet hair.

(Side note: We frequently turn our heater and air conditioner ON and OFF since my body temperature is super ridiculous, and because Oklahoma's temperature is also, super ridiculous. So the idea that it was ON one night, and OFF the next night, didn't raise any red flags for me.)

Has anyone caught on? Well I hadn't, until last night....when Mike and I were chatting, and he admitted to me that he had turned the heater OFF the night before so that I would wake up and cuddle with him to get warm.

THAT LITTLE SNEAK.

You should have seen the smile on his face when he told me.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Happy 4 year Anniversary to us!

I love you best friend.
